If not that COVID-19 doesn’t spare anyone, Nigerian celebrities won’t even bother! – Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti

Popular Afrobeat singer and socio-political activist, Seun Kuti has taken a subtle swipe at Nigerian celebrities as regards creating awareness over the second wave of COVID-19.

Comedian, Ali Baba and Paul Okoye who both recovered from the virus recently have been sharing their experience while they were in isolation centres. The two entertainers have been creating awareness about the dreadfulness of the second wave of the pandemic.

However, in as much as the singer lauded their efforts, he questioned why they are not using the same energy to campaign against some social issues in the society such as hunger which is peculiar to the vast majority of people on the country.

Seun Kuti shared this thought on his Instagram page a few hours ago. His post suggests that the celebrities are more concerned about how real COVID-19 is because they could get killed too but the hunger has always been identified with the poor without any awareness to alleviate the situation.
