Remo Stars have sealed a continental ticket with a win over Bendel Insurance in an NPFL Super Six match up.
Daniel Ogunmodede’s side pipped the Edo based club 1-0 on Sunday, June 11 at the Onikan Stadium.
Junior Lokosa beat the Bendel Insurance goalkeeper in the seventh minute but Adams Olamilekan couldn’t connect to the ball. Lokosa had another chance to score in the 25th minute but no shot was taken.
Qudus Akanni fired Remo in front with a cool finish in the 35th minute to make it 1-0.
Lokosa got yet another opportunity to score in the 58th minute but couldn’t find the target.
Anakwe and Odubua were substituted on for Adams Olamilekan and Junior Lokosa deep in the second half.
The Ikenne based side held on to grab the three points at full time.
Remo Stars are finished second on the NPFL playoffs table with nine points from five games.
