- The freestyle swings ride malfunctioned at 2pm at the Chants Summer Carnival
- Fire Rescue Victoria have brought in a crane and are working to free the children
- Another two children are reportedly stuck on the ride closer to ground level
Rescue crews battled rainy conditions to free children stuck 35metres in the air on a carnival ride after it malfunctioned.
A crane and cherry picker were used to rescue the children on the ride at Waurn Ponds Shopping Centre for the Chants Summer Carnival in Geelong on Saturday.
Two children were suspended 35metres in the air while another two children were trapped several metres above ground.

Fire Rescue Victoria said rescue crews were at the scene alongside the SES, CFA, Victoria Police, WorkSafe and carnival management.
‘Crews have raised a ladder platform to the children and are working to safely free the uninjured pair,’ Fire Rescue Victoria said.
The carnival has been shutdown while the high angle rescue operation is underway and have advised the public to stay clear of the area.
WorkSafe Victoria is investigating the cause of the malfunction.
