His acting career has seen him chef up for the Weatherfield residents and attend to patients in A&E at Holby City Hospital.

But for Tristan Gemmill, the next rung on the ladder has taken him to pantomime, where he is portraying the Sheriff in a production of Robin Hood at the Theatre Royal, Nottingham.

For his new role, the Robert Preston actor, 54, looked almost unrecognisable – his trademark silver fox and clean-shaven style replaced with a thick brown wig and beard, as shown on his Instagram page.

Among Tristan’s most notable roles include his Coronation Street stint, portraying Tracy Barlow’s former husband Robert from 2015-2019.

Towards his exit two years ago, which saw his character killed off on Christmas Day, Robert was encapsulated in a confusing cheating storyline that saw him torn between Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh) and Vicky Jefferies (Kerri Quinn).

Robert was shot accidentally by Derek Milligan (Craige Els) during an incident at the Rovers Return and died before he could meet his and Vicky’s son.
