Chelsea to complete move for Hakim Ziyech, is he what the blues need?

According to reports from Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf Premier League giants Chelsea have an ‘oral agreement’ for €45m transfer of Ajax playmaker Hakim Ziyech this summer.

Ziyech who is a Moroccan has spent all his career in the Dutch Eredivisie with Ajax has been an outstanding performer for them.

He featured against Chelsea twice this season and even scored at Stamford Bridge.

In his Eredivisie career he had 213 appearances, scored 79 goals and contributed 87 assists which results to 109 minutes per goal contribution.

He recorded double figures for assists in six consecutive seasons and is still only 26.

According to Opta, since 2017/18, Hakim Ziyech has been directly involved in a shot once every 10 minutes in league and European competition. In the 8362 minutes he played he had 479 shots and 354 chances created.

Chelsea are struggling with consistency finding the back of the net, Tammy Abraham has been their only sure target man.

It was expected they will find a back up or better option for Abraham in the summer but have instead decided to go for another creative player. Is Ziyech what Chelsea need?
