Travis Scott made his return to performing live as he played at a pre-Oscars party in Bel Air in Southern California on Saturday night.

The 30-year-old rapper performed a short set that consisted of him both rapping and DJing at the event, which included Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire as guests, according to TMZ.

The musician’s appearance at the event marks the first time that he has performed since the tragic events of the Astroworld Festival, which occurred this past November.

The rapper did not seem to be accompanied by his partner, Kylie Jenner, at the star-studded event.

The Sicko Mode songwriter is still dealing with the fallout from the events of the most recent Astroworld festival, which took place at NRG Park in his hometown of Houston.

A concert was also planned for 2020, although it was canceled due to the onset of the global pandemic.

The most recent Astroworld Festival began on November 5, and it was intended to run for another day.

Artists that performed during the first day of the event included SZA, Master P and Toro Y Moi, and Bad Bunny, Tame Impala and Chief Keef were scheduled to play on the second day.

The fatal incident began when Scott took to the festival’s main stage just after 9 PM, after which the rapper’s followers began pushing their way towards the artist.

As a result of the crowd surge, several fans fell over and were caught underfoot and subsequently crushed under the feet of other concertgoers.

The hitmaker briefly stopped his set at one point after noticing that a fan had passed out, although he later resumed performing despite calls for him to end the concert.

Scott subsequently paused his performance on two separate occasions after noticing fans being injured, although he kept rapping after taking brief breaks.

The rapper later brought Drake out on stage for several songs, and the set concluded just after 10 PM.

A total of ten people died from injuries received during the festival, with ages of victims ranging from nine to 27.

Around 300 people were also treated for various ailments at the site of the event.

Scott later claimed to have been unaware of the tragedy at first and was notified about the situation while attending an afterparty at a local Dave and Buster’s location.

The performer posted a video to his Instagram account on November 6 where he apologized for his role in the tragedy.

His clip was met with ridicule from many of his former fans, who saw the gesture as insincere.

Scott was later dropped from the lineup of numerous events, including the upcoming Coachella Festival, and he lost many lucrative sponsorships as well.

The performer and his team were later named in several lawsuits regarding the evening’s tragic events.

The media outlet reported that one lawsuit has been filed with a $750 million payout in mind, while another was in the amount of $2 billion.
