Laura Byrne reveals she was working on her laptop six hours into labour with her second child and was back at work four weeks after giving birth

Laura Byrne welcomed her second child –  a daughter called Lola Ellis – with her fiancé Matthew ‘Matty J’ Johnson in February.

And this week she recalled going into labour with Lola while she was busy tapping away on her laptop.

Speaking to Mamma Mia’s motherhood podcast Me After You, 37-year-old said: ‘I had an epidural so that went a long way in helping with the pain, but in no way was it a scary experience.’

‘I was still sitting there, six hours into labour, an epidural in and I was just sitting there with my laptop just doing work.

She said that at one point her midwife asked how her contractions were, to which Laura recalled saying: ‘I think so, just got to send off three more emails, don’t tell me I’m ten centimetres.’

The podcaster also shared her regret at returning to work too soon after giving birth.

 ‘I think I kind of tried to throw myself back to normality too quickly,’ she said.

‘I was back at work really soon and I don’t think I have myself enough time to really recover and sit, and I regret that.’

Elsewhere, Laura revealed that she brought little Lola on the set of a photo shoot for her jewellery label, Toni May, just weeks after giving birth.

‘When Lola was four-weeks-old I had her strapped to my chest in a carrier and I was out on the rock platform in Bondi doing a photo shoot for our next collection trying to dress models with a kid strapped to me,’ she said.

Laura started Toni May prior to meeting Matty J on The Bachelor in 2017. They have since welcomed two daughters – Marlie Mae, two, and 10-month-old Lola.
