Dan Ewing was eliminated from SAS Australia’s finale on Tuesday night after failing an interrogation by the show’s Directing Staff.

And the actor, 36, let off some steam as he put himself through a very gruelling workout at a local park in Sydney earlier this month, prior to the pre-recorded show.

The former Home and Away star showed off his bulging biceps in a sleeveless black top and matching shorts as he worked on his upper body strength.

Dan completed his workout attire with black socks pulled up and black trainers.

He made a number of animated facial expressions as he endured a taxing series of pull-ups and push-ups, while also getting the cardio in by going for a light run.

The star’s SAS Australia eviction, which was filmed months in advance and aired on Channel Seven on Tuesday night, may have been playing on his mind.

Dan was brutally culled from Tuesday’s SAS Australia finale after failing an intense interrogation by the show’s Directing Staff (DS).

Following a simulated kidnapping exercise, Dan initially refused to cooperate with the DS in providing vital information about his captors.

After having a black hood removed from his head, the DS informed Dan that he wouldn’t be progressing any further in the course.

‘Alright, number nine, you can relax. We’re obviously moving into the new phase, and there are only a certain number of recruits that we can take forward,’ explained DS Jason ‘Foxy’ Fox.

‘To that end, you will not be going forward to the next phase. Your time is over,’ added fellow DS Ollie Ollerton.

Despite being disappointed in their decision, Dan said he was proud to have been ‘the last non-athlete standing’.

Dan was then taken to the medic’s office, where chief instructor Ant Middleton came in and praised him on his ‘amazing effort’ throughout the series.

‘Honestly, I came into this course in a really good place… but the surprise to me was all that stuff that you guys pinpoint. You hit it on the head,’ Dan told Ant, 41.

‘It’s that controlled aggression. And I know when I used it and I know when I didn’t. So you’ve got to have the balance. It’s something that I really surprised myself when I learnt it here.’

Ant told Dan that it was important to ‘suppress’ his aggression in the real world because ‘it’s not accepted’, but said it was sometimes necessary in the SAS.

Concluded Dan: ‘Dan Ewing before selection was putting ego in a box and locking it up. I’ve learnt there are certain times, certain worlds, especially in the SAS world where maybe you need a little bit of that. But it’s got to be controlled, and that’s why these guys are the best in the world.’
