This year’s Oscars presented at the Dolby Theatre and co-hosted by actors Amy Schumer, Wanda Sykes and Regina Hall will be scaled back for the home TV audience.
Controversially, eight categories, including production design, make-up, and film editing will be handed out an hour before the live TV broadcast.
This decision designed to shorten the ceremony and attract viewers has met with widespread disapproval in Hollywood.

Nicole Kidman has been nominated in the best actress category for her role playing Lucille Ball in Being the Ricardos and the other nominees include: Jessica Chastain (The Eyes of Tammy Faye), Olivia Coleman (The Lost Daughter), Penelope Cruz (Parallel Mothers) and Kristen Stewart (Spencer).
