‘I’ve wanted to write this post for a while but it has felt like my mind has just been under such a cloud of fog that it was hard to articulate what I wanted to say so bear with me.

‘I think some days we just need to accept that life is going to kick our a**e. The last couple weeks have kicked mine a bit – it’s been this mad mix of amazing highs and then really intense lows and subsequently I’ve just felt like I was on a rollercoaster – never knowing if what was round the corner was going to be a really good, exciting moment or something more difficult and testing.

‘I know that everyday can’t be big wins, beautiful moments and clear skies- there has to be a little rain but, and I know everyone can relate to this, sometimes doesn’t it just feel like a f***ing monsoon??!’

‘Grazed knees, bad chapters, hard days- hard weeks even.. they don’t last forever. Sooner or later, we all get a win.

‘The clouds part and things just get a little better. That’s life – and these setbacks don’t define us – it’s how we keep going that proves who we really are.

‘So keep going, keep smiling and understand that everyday you do that – every time you say quietly to yourself “I will try again tomorrow” – it takes real bravery and you should be really proud of yourself.

‘And next time you find yourself in the eye of a storm just be kind to yourself – pull back from everything and focus on the things that bring you peace- create your own “umbrella.”

‘Whatever that looks like for you. You probably already have it – it’s your “go to” things that make you all warm and safe.’
